Actuarial Analyst
Job Description
-
Collect, analyze and interpret experience data including
estimating IBNR reserves.

Use analysis and tools to make pricing recommendations.

Develop and maintain new business rate structures
including compliance functions such as rate filings.

Develop actuarial models and processes to improve
efficiencies.

Lead program teams through project management, peer
review, and client presentations.
-
Position requires regular client interaction and travel.
Qualifications
Education/ Exams
- Bachelor's or Master's degrees in mathematics,
actuarial science, economics, finance, health care
management or other related field.
- Successful completion of Society of Actuary exams is
desirable but not required.
Preferred Experience
- Prior job responsibilities of data analysis and
reporting.
- Experience in healthcare or insurance industry.
- Experience working in the actuarial profession.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Excel to analyze data and produce
reports.
- Proficiency in manipulating data through Access
and/or SQL.
- Visual basic or other programming skills are a plus.
Knowledge & Skills
- Effective presentation and communication skills,
both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain
effective working relationships across functions and
teams.
- Ability to work independently and within a team
environment, with minimal supervision.
- Ability to problem solve demonstrating analytical
and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a
demanding work environment demonstrating strong
overall organizational and time management skills.
- Diligence in checking own work and the work of
others for accuracy, paying attention to details.
- Willingness to work in an ambiguous and changing
environment.
